Sign Language Week 2018; Let's Sign!

Updated: Mar 27, 2020

Tomorrow starts the Sign Language Week 2018!

British Deaf Association (BDA) holds a nationwide Sign Language Week coinciding with the anniversary of BSL Recognition Day as an official minority language of the UK, on 18th March.

During this week everybody can take part on raising awareness of the United Kingdom's Deaf community and celebrating their beautiful and unique language (British Sign Language - BSL).

This year, Sign Language Week supports National "Pride in BSL" March in Westminster - a march to campaign for a legal status for BSL. Find out more HERE.

From 12th to 18th March here at Deaf Umbrella we want to promote British Sign Language and deaf culture, as BSL is one of our tools, and join this celebration sharing videos with useful and basic BSL vocabulary to help the inclusion for Deaf Community.

A new video will be uploaded each day of this week on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+).

We hope you enjoy it and if you like it, please, share it! :)
