Free bus pass for Summer 2022! - BSL info


Thanks to Kent’s local bus operators, young people and families with children can enjoy this summer holiday with free bus travel between 23 July and 31 August 2022.


Young person's passes

If you're in years 6 to 13 at school and you live or go to school in Kent, you can travel by bus for free this summer as part of the Reconnect programme.



If you don't have a suitable mobile phone, you can pick-up a printed version from a collection point.


Family passes

The family pass allows a family of up to 4, who live in Kent, to travel by bus for free this summer. Either 1 adult and up to 3 children or 2 adults and up to 2 children can travel for free using the pass.

Using your bus pass

Once you get your bus pass, you’ll be able to use it as many times as you like between 23 July and 31 August 2022. You'll be able to use it to board the following buses in Kent up to 9pm each day:

  • Stagecoach

  • Arriva

  • Metrobus

  • Nu Venture

  • Go Coach (not Go2)

  • Autocar

  • Chalkwell

  • Farleigh Coaches

  • Hams Travel

  • Kent Coach Tours

  • R&J Coaches

  • Redroute

  • Regent Coaches

  • Starline Coaches.

Family passes cannot be used by an adult without a child or by an child without an adult and cannot be transferred to another family.


These passes are only valid for journeys in areas maintained by Kent County Council which includes: Ashford, Canterbury, Dartford, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe, Gravesham, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Swale, Thanet, Tonbridge and Malling, and Tunbridge Wells.


The passes cannot be used to travel into or out of the county (for example on services that start or operate in Medway, East Sussex, West Sussex or the Transport for London area). Medway is covered by a different local authority so please contact Medway Council for information about support for children and families.


You must show your bus pass to the driver when getting on the bus and you must keep the pass with you at all times.

If you lose your bus pass, you can get a digital replacement on this page, or visit a collection point to get a printed version.
