Cavell Donaldson is not just a talented footballer; he’s an inspiration. Selected to represent Great Britain (GBDF) at the Deaflympics in Tokyo, Cavell is working hard both on and off the pitch to get game-ready. But competing at an international level comes with a big financial challenge.

Between flights, accommodation, kit, insurance, interpreters, and essential recovery costs, Cavell needs to raise £3,500 to compete. At Deaf Umbrella, we’re passionate about breaking barriers and celebrating Deaf achievement. That’s why we’re contributing £250 towards Cavell’s fundraising goal and launching a dedicated awareness campaign to help him reach the full £3.5K.
We’ll be sharing Cavell’s story across our social media channels, posting photos, videos, and updates to rally as much support as possible. Every share, like, and donation counts.
Why the Tokyo Deaflympics Matters
The Deaflympics is the biggest stage for Deaf sports, bringing together athletes from all over the globe to compete at the highest level. It’s a celebration of Deaf culture, talent, and teamwork.
For football fans, the GB Deaf Men’s Football Team is one to watch. They’ve been working tirelessly in training camps, building up to this moment, and Cavell is ready to give everything he’s got to represent his country.
Why support Cavell?
Cavell’s commitment is incredible. He trains tirelessly, balancing his passion for the game with the realities of fundraising for travel, kit, and competition costs.
The Deaflympics is the pinnacle of Deaf sports, a place where talent, determination, and representation shine. Cavell’s participation will inspire the next generation of Deaf athletes, showing that barriers can be broken with teamwork and support.
He’s representing not only Great Britain but also the Deaf community, showing the world the power of determination and talent.
